Guess the charger

In a flurry of activity that won’t happen again for another six months or years, I decided today was the day to put away the NordicTrack skier that was such a deal on Craigslist. Of course all NordicTrack skiers are a deal on Craigslist. It’s easier to leave them in the middle of the floor, drying out, dusty and unloved, and sell them right there where they sit for the low, low price of something nobody wants, than put them away.

Now, I’m going to use my skier again one day, I know it. In the meantime, I’m converting the area into a torture space for other workouts. But not before I discovered it’s too big to go under my bed. Aren’t they supposed to go under the bed, that other big thing going chronically unused?

My coat closet

My house is old. But it has a lot of walk-in closets rather than tiny dark rooms, which was a selling point. That and the central A/C and the equity I got back a mere 12 years after the crash. Anyway, I have a walk-in coat closet because I have a lot of coats which, where I live, do not go unused. They hang from a 5′ x 9′ rack made of galvanized steel pipe and constructed by yours truly, who’s only 5′ herself. (Thank you. Thank you very much.)  Underneath those coats is room for a lot of things, like a NordicTrack skier.  It’s also where I still have all manner of things I was sure I had use for at the time:

  • A Chromebook box
  • A keyboard box
  • A Kitchenaid can opener box
  • Random styrofoam that protected something – maybe a Kitchenaid mixer?
  • two sets of computer speakers, boxed
  • Atari games (no Atari)
  • This box of chargers:

Thanks, future me

In this box is everything I need to charge whatever is no longer in use but is in this house somewhere. I mean, if this were 1965 I’d be charged with witchcraft but now? I’m just a hoarder. What did I think I would do with this?

Def going to call that person I hate a little less 20 years later

If you can’t tell me what this is, I’ll remain convinced it’s used during my annual exam:

I have four of these. FOUR:

If anyone ever breaks in, I will simply brain them with this.  It’s about 10 pounds. And OK, I’ll give you a hint: It’s for an Iomega Zip Drive, an early indicator that I have storage issues.

Could not even begin to tell you what these do. But I have two. Contact me before I put one on Craigslist.

What about you?

Do you have a random box of chargers? Do you know what they’re for? Do you know what these are for? Tell me before I don’t throw them away! I’ll just put them on top of the skier ’til I hear from you.
